From Golden Gate Transit: "In early 1993, Golden Gate Transit's Whale Bus was hand-painted in oils by world-reknowned environmental artist George Sumner. The 40-foot bus is the canvas for a life-size Humpback Whale on each side and kissing Bottlenose Dolphins adorn the front and back. The Whale Bus is an educational vehicle that has been driving home an important message about endangered species, the environment, and public transit's role in helping both issues."
