Robinsons-May was created in 1993 when J.W. Robinson's and May Company merged. Robinson's began in 1883 in Los Angeles while May Company began in 1877 in Leadville, Colorado. May department stores were purchased by Federated Department Stores, Inc. (Macy's) in 2005 and as a result many of the Southern California Robinsons-May stores were closed. The remaining Robinsons-May stores were converted to Macy's.

It is likely this location will be converted to Macys as it is the better of the two stores in the mall. Also guests visiting the mall must pass through Robinsons-May to get from the southern section to the northern section of the mall.
