I am 30+ years old and I graduated from Cal State Los Angeles with a BA degree in Geography (2003). From August 2001 to December 2003 I also worked at Cal State LA until state budget cuts eliminated my position. With my work and school I spent 7+ years of my life at Cal State LA. Since May 2005 I have been working for a charter bus company in Southern California, and I am currently a reservations supervisor. Since November 2009 I have had a part time job as a transit bus dispatcher as well as being a reservations supervisor.

Why am I interested in transit?

Well I have always been interested in trains, I have a picture of me at age 2 on the Virginia & Truckee in Nevada. I was hooked from then on, probably helped that my dad and grandfather also liked trains. I grew up with trains and transportation all around me. I grade school I became interested in RTD buses and collected schedules from the library in the city of Bell. I would also pick up discarded transfers at school. Early bus rides for me included the 111 to Huntington Park and also the Mini-Bus in downtown Los Angeles. I also remember riding an San Diego Transit MAN artic in 1986. As time went on I began to lose interest in buses and I did not ride that many buses as a teenager. My sister and I did go from High School to home a couple times on the bus, but most of the time we got rides. In college I my interest in Transit grew. I began reading books on MUNI and PCCs in the Cal State LA library and I began to get involved the transit fan scene. I started riding the bus home from Cal State on a regular basis in 1998 and I have not looked back. Thanks to the internet I meet a whole group of bus fans. Our core group goes on trips on a regular basis.
